Royal Caribbean announced the latest features on its new cruise ship Oasis of the Seas.

] is hoping that the improvements unveiled Thursday -- including the biggest onboard pool, an “AquaThearter,” zip line, and a carousel - will help spur traffic.
Royal Caribbean’s Chairman and CEO, Richard Fain says that although bookings are up through 2008, he is keeping a close eye on them due to the uncertain economic conditions. “Nobody is recession proof,” he told Reuters
Robert LaFleur, an Analyst with the Susquehanna Financial Group, says these new ships will be the highest yielding ships for Royal Caribbean and will also be profitable for them. LaFleur is still unsure however, whether Royal Caribbean’s large investment will produce sound returns. He says that consumers will continue to tighten their belts as the leisure industry struggles.
When Oasis of the Seas launches in late 2009, it will be the largest cruise ship in the world. Many are calling this ship an “architectural marvel” that will span more than 16 decks and encompass 220,000 tons.
The Oasis of the Seas will be able to carry 5,400 guests and feature 2,700 staterooms.
