[MCD  Loading...      ()   ] jingle may be the original food rap. So it's quite ironic that McDonald's finds itself at the center of a dispute involving four teens imitating a popular YouTube video.

The teens wound up with a disorderly conduct charge after they rapped their order at McDonald's drive-thru in American Fork, a town about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.

The stunt was an attempt to recreate a popular video that begins the line "I need a double cheeseburger and hold the lettuce...", and continues several times as a McDonald's employee attempts to take down the order from the song.

The Associated Press says the Utah teens claim employees at the restaurant told them they were holding up the line and needed to order or leave. They claim there were no other customers present, and they ultimately left without buying anything.

In a statement, McDonald's said the restaurant called the police because of the teens' actions in the drive-thru, not as a result of them rapping their order.

The owner-operator of the McDonald's said in a statement that the issue was about employees' safety at the restaurant, and urges consumers not to rush to judgment.

"The safety and well-being of my employees and customers is a top priority," said Conny Kramer, the franchisee. "At this time, these are allegations. We strongly caution anyone from jumping to conclusions about this matter, without having all the facts."

We will probably get a chance to hear more of the facts. The teens plan to fight the disorderly conduct charge, which is an infraction similar to a speeding ticket.

A call to the local police station was not immediately returned.
