After-hours buzz: Oracle, Paychex, Herman Miller

Check out which companies are making headlines after the bell Wednesday:

Oracle The business software company posted earningsexcluding one-time items of 69 cents per share on revenue of $9.28 billion. Analysts had expected the company to report earnings excluding items of 67 cents a share on $9.20 billion in revenue. Its shares slid in after-hours trading.

Paychex The company reported earnings per share of 43 cents on revenue of $600.5 million, compared to expectations that the company would report earnings per share of 42 cents on revenue of $599 million. Its shares rose in extended-hours trading.

Herman Miller The company posted adjusted diluted quarterly earnings per share of 42 cents on sales of $470.5 million. Analysts expected it to report earnings of 40 cents a share on revenue $467 million. It also hiked its quarterly dividend 12 percent to 14 cents a share. Its shares gained in after-hours trade.

Steelcase The company reported third-quarter earnings of 18 cents a share on revenue of $784.8 million. Analysts estimated earnings of 26 cents a share on revenue of $766 million. Its shares climbed in after-hours trading.
