Tech stocks started 2014 with a bang but have racked up steep declines in the past month. For the week ending Friday, the Nasdaq Composite lost nearly 3 percent – its worst week since October 2012.
Last Wednesday, King Digital Entertainment tumbled as much as 16 percent in its first day as a publicly traded company. Shares of Facebook also fell last week, after the social networking firm acquired virtual-reality headset maker Oculus VR.
But Tesla, which designs and makes premium electric vehicles, climbed Friday on profit-taking following several sessions of losses.
