'Breakfast at Tiffany's' townhouse up for sale

The Upper East Side townhouse used in the film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" has gone on sale for $8 million, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

Located at 169 E. 71st St. in Manhattan, the property previously belonged to Peter Bacanovic, the former Merrill Lynch broker who was convicted of insider trading with Martha Stewart in 2004, the newspaper said.

Only the exterior of the building was shown in the film, but the Mail said iconic aspects such as the olive green doors and the facade's architectural elements remain the same. The only difference from the film is the absence of green- and white-striped awnings over the windows.
