After-hours buzz: Fossil, YY, Yahoo & more

Take a look at some of Tuesday's midday movers:

Fossil surged more than 14 percent in extended-hours trade after the watch and accessories maker posted third-quarter earnings and revenue that beat expectations and a $1 billion stock buyback. In a press release, the company also said it renewed a global licensing program with Michael Kors, which edged higher in after-hours trade.

Yahoo edged lower in extended-hours trade after the Internet firm announced a definitive agreement to acquire BrightRoll, a leading programmatic video advertising platform.

YY gained more than 3 percent in after-hours trade after the Chinese web portal reported strong third-quarter results, with a 105.3 percent increase in revenue year-over-year. The real-time video streaming website has gained popularity recently as amateur Chinese singers have used the site to build a fan base.

Matson jumped nearly 7 percent in extended-hours trade on the announcement that the shipping company would acquire smaller domestic shipping firmHorizon Lines.

Diamondback Energy fell more than 3 percent in after-hours trade on news that the Texas-based energy company is launching an underwritten public offering of 2 million shares of its common stock by certain selling stockholders.
