Hewlett-Packard hikes quarterly dividend by 10 percent

Hewlett-Packard on Thursday announced it raised its quarterly dividend by 10 percent.

The tech giant boosted its dividend to 17.6 cents a share. The increase is expected to occur in May.

HP's previously announced dividend, payable on April 1, 2015, will remain at 16 cents a share.

HP has about 1.8 billion shares outstanding.
