Tiger Woods will compete in the Masters Tournament this year. He confirmed the news in a tweet.

Woods has suffered from back problems that most recently prompted him to withdraw from the Farmers Insurance Open in February. He had surgery on his back last year and has either withdrawn from tournaments or performed badly in them since.

Nike has long sponsored Woods.

Woods won the most recent of his four Masters in 2005

The tournament, which Woods has won four times, starts next week. He played his first Masters 20 years ago and most recently won the event 10 years ago.
