Samsung shipped 83.2 million smartphones worldwide in the first quarter of 2015, capturing 24.1 percent of the market share, according to data from tech research firm Strategy Analytics published Wednesday. In the fourth quarter of 2014, Apple caught up with Samsung, and both companies were neck and neck when it came to shipments. Both companies shipped 74.5 million smartphones over the period, and had equal market share, on the back of Apple's huge success with its large screen iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
