The Indian Supreme Court agreed Monday to consider removing Madhya Pradesh's governor amid a government recruitment scandal linked to 35 deaths, NDTV reported.

Governor since 2011, Ram Naresh Yadav was accused in the scam last year but charges were dropped on grounds that his office entitled him to immunity from investigation, NDTV said.

The television station said 35 people linked to the scam have died over the last three years, including Yadav's son. Known as the Vyapam scam, it refers to top politicians and bureaucrats who allegedly allowed large bribes to allow imposters to take the qualifying exam for government jobs.
