Pop megastar Will.I.Am has revealed his intention to vote for Hillary Clinton in the November U.S. presidential elections should she become the Democrats' candidate.

When asked by CNBC at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos who he would vote for in November, the singer said "Hillary".

Clinton is fighting to become the Democrats' presidential candidate but is facing a tough battle against Bernie Sanders.

Will.I.Am has been a long-time supporter of the Democrats. During the 2008 election campaign, the popstar released a song called "Yes We Can" in support of Barack Obama.

The theme for this year's WEF is the "fourth industrial revolution" with a large part focusing on artificial intelligence (AI). Will.I.Am said that while companies are investing vast sums of money in the technology, not enough is going towards educating children to cope with tomorrow's world.

"AI is…a $100 million investment from, you know, various companies to make sure that artificial intelligence gets smarter, and the sad thing is that we don't have the same investment towards education," the former Black Eyed Peas star told CNBC.

"So machine learning surpasses group learning. And so to talk about the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and celebrate it, but at the same time, you know, put a flashlight on some of the hurdles that we need to jump over as a society, and how is every human being equipped with tomorrow's tools."
