"The charge card is back," Jim Cramer said Friday on "Squawk on the Street" after Nordstrom, Kohl's and JC Penny's released their quarterly reports.
Cramer said consumer confidence is increasing and the credit card is becoming as strong as it was before the Great Recession.
He also noted that Nordstrom is "fighting" its "way back" with better apps, execution and loyalty reward programs.
"Nordstrom's anniversary sale— unlike what some of these hedge funds were telling me— turned out to be very, very strong," Cramer said.
