Donald Trump makes me want to be a better man.

Not because I admire him. I look at him and I think, my goodness, we're of the same species, both males. I need to speak up for the gender.

I've given him every benefit of the doubt. I've listened to him and watched him closely for six months now, ever since he announced he was running for president. I've been aware of him for even longer, in fact, have had some dealings with him. I've even come close to admiring him once, against my better judgement.

Some men are attractive, in a manly way, even in an ethereal way. Some have a great personality. Some have it all. Donald Trump has none of these.

My better judgement always told me that this man was creepy. If it looks like a creep, and it quacks like a creep ...

Trump's questionable business acumen aside, and his political chops still developing, I do agree with a lot of what he is saying about America … crumbling infrastructure, enfeebling political correctness, government waste and incompetence, immigration concerns, etc. I thought he might be able to do a good job as president and break away from the current Washington norm. That he'd shake things up, move people out of their political and administrative comfort zones. Get things rolling in the right direction.

"Donald Trump makes me want to be a better man. Not because I admire him. I look at him and I think, my goodness, we're of the same species, both males. I need to speak up for the gender."

I thought, and still do, that Hillary Clinton represents the "norm" and the worst of politics and government waste. I thought what Washington and the country needed was a good strong dose of someone like Donald Trump.

I was willing to give Trump a chance to prove himself and back his words with positive action, and a chance to convince me he could be President of the United States of America. Although, and all along, my better judgement was telling me not to.

I'm either indecisive, or I'm too willing to take the long view and give someone enough rope to hang themselves. And that is exactly what Trump is doing regarding his recently exposed comments regarding women.

I believe there is good and bad in all of us, especially, in men. There is always a balance, and it's always a challenge to stay on course and ultimately do the right thing. If anyone tells you different they are in denial or flat out lying to you.

A president is counted on to do the right thing. And when it comes to women, respect is what you are looking for in a man, and in a leader.

Donald Trump said more in that conversation on that bus to more than hang himself in my opinion.

That, is who he is.

I'm a "guy", a fairly honorable and respectful one. I've been around "guys" and I know a jerk when I see one, and they look and sound a lot like Donald Trump.

You see them all the time. They must come from Central Casting as the braggadocio losers who talk about their love lives' and their success with women. The reality is women loath them and ridicule them behind their backs.

Trump shows no finesse or class trying to so hard to impress us with his good taste, power, money and sexual prowess. His filthy mouth needs to be washed out with soap. He represents himself as one of the very "undesirables" he wants to keep out of the country.

Trump's false sense of security, fueled by his thin veneer of money and power will always get him a second look, but it will always get him in trouble as well, and dig him deeper into a hole.

All men have the capability of being a jerk like this. Especially today, when the male roll models are movie stars, sport heros, cable news anchors, and lives of the rich and famous.

Donald Trump is the poster boy for what not to be as a man.

I feel sorry for his wife and family.

It wasn't just "guy talk," or "locker room talk," and if you look at it that way, so be it, you may have a point. I know the banter, the bravado, sometimes it gets carried away and people say mindless things. The conversation can deteriorate in seconds. Mouths and brains detach.

The point here is, that's who Donald Trump is. He's proven it. And he's running for president. I mean, how stupid can you be to allow yourself, as a public figure, to be recorded saying things like that, let alone thinking things like that.

A candid off line conversation can be so revealing, and give a good look deep into the mind and character of a person. It shows you how a person really feels and thinks. Eleven years ago, eleven minutes ago, doesn't matter.

He needs counseling.

Unfortunately for Trump, but fortunately for us, this is what has happened here. A revelation. An epiphany. Creep on the bus with fellow creep, gentleman off the bus in the public eye. A 70-year-old man. Businessman. Celebrity. Father. Husband. Would-be president.

Creep.

I don't care if he can run the country. Actually, I doubt he can be consistent and focused enough to do the job and still focus on sex, himself and tweeting about sex and himself.

America's president can't be creepy. There is a much higher standard. And respect for women is a good indicator of the measure of a man.
