More than 1,500 Ford employees were evacuated Monday morning after a fire broke out at an electrical sub-station at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

A Ford spokesman told CNBC the power to the building was shut off. The electrical sub-station is located in the basement of the building.

He said the Dearborn Fire Department told him the fire was contained. The fire department is currently investigating the cause. No injuries were reported.

Ford employees in the World Headquarters building were sent home.
