Clint Duane Carlson founded Carlson Capital in 1993 and serves as its president and co-chief investment officer. He is also a part of Parallel Resource Partners.
Carlson has more than 25 years of experience as an active energy investor in public equity, private equity and credit markets. He was the head of risk arbitrage at Bass Brothers, and from 1985 to 1988 co-managed a risk arbitrage fund at Maxxam Group and affiliated companies. For two years prior to that, Carlson managed growth stock accounts at American Capital Asset Management.
He is a member of the board of governors of the Texas Ballet Theatre Carlson and a trustee of the Dallas Museum of Art. He serves on the board of directors for Rice University Management and is a director of Texas A & M . He was formerly a director at the University of Texas Investment Management Co. Carlson holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Houston, and received an MBA and a B.A. from Rice University.
