David Klein is Constellation's executive vice president and chief financial officer reporting to Rob Sands, chief executive officer. In this role, Klein is responsible for accounting, investor relations, financial decision support, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, treasury, tax and information technology. He is also a member of the executive management committee.
Constellation Brands is a leading international producer and marketer of beer, wine and spirits, with operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Italy. Constellation is the third-largest producer and marketer of beer for the U.S. market and the world's leading premium wine company, with a leading market position in the U.S., Canada and New Zealand. Constellation's wine portfolio also includes select premium spirits brands.
Klein joined Constellation Brands in September 2004 as vice president of business development. He also held roles as CFO of Constellation Europe; senior vice president, treasurer and controller; and CFO of its beer division. Klein's previous contributions at Constellation include managing all aspects of finance for international and domestic businesses, championing improvements to free cash flow generation and optimizing the company's capital structure.
Before his tenure at Constellation Brands, Klein held the chief financial officer role at Montana Mills, an IPO company, where he led the transformation from private to public company and then subsequently led the sale of Montana Mills to Krispy Kreme. Klein also held the chief financial officer role at NetSetGo, an Internet and network services start-up that won several business and technical awards. Prior to these entrepreneurial positions, Klein served as the director of mergers and acquisitions at Xerox and as director of finance and accounting for Harris Corporation.
He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
