    MCLEAN, Virginia— Procter& Gamble is crying uncle on the edible business so it can focus on its core brands like Tide detergent and Pampers diapers. Brands included in the deal include Iams, Eukanuba and Natura in North America, Latin America and certain other countries. The only business not included is in European Union countries.

    Feb 26- Lowe's Cos Inc reported strong growth in quarterly sales, showing that the No. 2 U.S. home improvement retailer was narrowing the gap with market leader Home Depot Inc.. Home Depot on Tuesday reported a 3 percent decline in sales in the same period, which was marked by winter storms and record cold in much of North America.

  • Nov 20- Lowe's Cos Inc reported slightly lower-than-expected quarterly earnings and gave a disappointing fiscal-year outlook, underscoring the No. 2 home improvement retailer's struggle to catch up with market leader Home Depot.

  • Wednesday's news came the day after strong results from larger rival Home Depot Inc, which increased its forecast for the year for the third time in three quarters as rising housing prices encouraged more people to invest in their homes.
