Jonathan Tucker Profile, Biography, About

  • Celeb Moneymaker Holds Again--Collins Goes Wild! Wednesday, 18 Apr 2007 | 11:18 AM ET

Champion poker player Chris Moneymaker widens his lead in first place to more than $150K with the sale of Adtran which was up 6.16% Tuesday--as actor Willie Garson lost over $20k on Seagate Technology--which was down 1.73% Tuesday. And actor Stephen Collins decided to take time off from his acting career--to make more buys and sells than everyone on Wall Street (I'm making this last sentence up--but as you will see, it's not that far off!).

  • Celeb Moneymaker Holds Lead--Bench "Catches" Fire Tuesday, 17 Apr 2007 | 1:57 PM ET

Celeb and champion poker player Chris Moneymaker widens his lead in first place to almost $60K with the smart bet on Rio Narcea Mines which was up 3.33%, and Garson lost on Mattel which was down 0.85%. AND--maybe more importantly-- Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench moves up two more spots from 8th to 6th on gains in American Oriental Bioengineering and CKX . Go, Johnny go!

  • Celeb Moneymaker Keeps Top Spot: Garson In Second Monday, 16 Apr 2007 | 11:24 AM ET

World champ poker player Chris Moneymaker retains his lead in Trading With The Stars--though actor Willie Garson climbed back into second. Only about $10,000 separates the two. The balance between the two will hang on Monday's (today's) performance of Moneymaker's purchase of Rio Narcea Mines and Willie's buy of Mattel. AND Johnny Bench fought his way...

  • Celeb Tucker: Let's Open Up a Hedge Fund! (Maybe) Friday, 13 Apr 2007 | 3:52 PM ET

Actor Jonathan Tucker is playing for "Street Signs" in Trading With The Stars. He might be playing for higher stakes after the contest if he's taken at his word. Even though he's in 4th place, he told CNBC's Erin Burnett  that if he was running a hedge fund the way he's running his contest portfolio--"we'd be doing pretty fantastically well." He did say that he and Erin should open up their own hedge fund. (hold on Jonathan--we'll see about that--it's just contest--but could it be a career move? nah..) However, he certainly dresses the part..

  • Celeb Moneymaker: Back On Top-Once More (Again!) Friday, 13 Apr 2007 | 11:15 AM ET

It's a back and forth tug of war in Trading With The Stars between champion poker player Chris Moneymaker and actor Willie Garson--as Chris wrestles the lead back from Willie on his Krispy Kreme trade. This is turning into quite a "horse race" between the two--as each nudges into the lead only to be pushed back by the other. (we'll keep working on our metaphors if they keep doing this).

  • Celeb Garson Back On Top As We Predicted (Sort of) Thursday, 12 Apr 2007 | 10:51 AM ET
    Willie Garson

Actor Willie Garson comes back (as we thought-see below) to take champion poker player Chris Moneymaker out of the lead for the second time. Stephen Collins also passes Chris to take second place on Chris's big loss on CMGI. Not too good of a day for most--as all of our celebs were down Wednesday, except for Ernie Hudson who gained almost $35,000 mostly on his sale of Electro Scientific, moving himself out of last place.

  • Celeb Moneymaker "Bets" His Way To The Top! Wednesday, 11 Apr 2007 | 10:50 AM ET

World champion poker player Chris Moneymaker is number one in Trading With The Stars! He knocks Willie Garson out of first place--taking the lead for the SECOND time in the competition. He was number one back on April 3rd. (thanks to producer Lori Spechler for pointing this out). BUT is it a "bluff?"--only $2,590.29 separates the two players. So, there could be more trading places in the days ahead. Here's a breakdown:

  • Celeb Garson Holds Lead But Collins Moves Up Tuesday, 10 Apr 2007 | 10:03 AM ET
    Willie Garson

Willie Garson proves himself as a celeb to beat, and holds the lead for the 3rd straight day in Trading With The Stars. There was a "flip flop" (no politicians here) of sorts as actor Stephen Collins replaced champion poker player Chris Moneymaker in the second spot--and Chris is in third. All the other celebs are holding their previous places. Actor James Cromwell is showing...

  • Celeb Gold: Still Searching For A Big Move Monday, 9 Apr 2007 | 11:56 AM ET

Here's a look at where celeb Judy Gold stands in Trading with the Stars--as chronicled by the crew on "Morning Call," the show she's playing for.  She's in 6th place, but DYING to move up a spot or two. Willie Garson still leads the pack after what can only be described as a "tremendous" move up the ranks. (see Timothy Sykes' blog post today).

  • Celeb Garson: Likes Top Spot For Yet Another Day! Friday, 6 Apr 2007 | 9:45 AM ET
    Willie Garson

Here's our update on "Trading With The Stars." Willie proves himself as not another flash in the pan, and maintains the #1 spot two day's in a row.  (and just like Willie--almost- Johnny Bench holds onto 7th place!)  Interesting note: all of our celeb portfolios are above the $1 million benchmark. Congrats to all for that!!

  • Celeb Willie G. Makes Move: Now In First!! Thursday, 5 Apr 2007 | 10:59 AM ET

Wow--a big move and an exciting day for the celebrities in "Trading With The Stars." In a big upset--really big--actor Willie Garson propels himself from last place to take the top spot on a HUGE gain with his trade on Robbins & Myers. All our celebs showed gains in their portfolio except for Ernie Hudson who lost out on AgioDynamics which he held a day too long, erasing his earlier gains and dropping him into last place..

  • Moneymaker Tops Trading With The Stars! Wednesday, 4 Apr 2007 | 10:20 AM ET

Wow-there were a lot of big gains Tuesday, and many of our celebs came from behind to move up the ranks. Chris Moneymaker stepped it up taking the lead with an all-in buy of Gigamedia  Monday, netting him over $47,000, Tuesday (and for being first, Chris gets his picture posted). And Ernie Hudson moved from 8th to 6th, AND Johnny Bench moves up two spots from 9th to 7th. At last (and no longer close to last) Johnny's making his move!! Here are the standings:

  • Celebs Raise Stakes As Money Flows In Tuesday, 3 Apr 2007 | 10:40 AM ET

Our celeb stock players seem to be getting the hang of "making money." All but two of them saw gains Monday (even Johnny Bench!). Ernie Hudson had the biggest "up" percentage--gaining 1.01% or just a little over $10k. Only Chris Gardner, down a minisucle 0.01% or $80.00 and Wille Garson, down a bigger .058% or $5,600, came out on the losing end.

  • Actor Stephen Collins may have to have a trading floor of his own pretty soon. Just get a look below at the buys and sells he made Thursday for "Trading With The Stars." He sure likes to diversify and expand his portfolio.  Jonathan Tucker and Chris Moneymaker keep their spots at 2 and 3. There was some movement in the standings as Judy Gold moved up to 4th from 5th--while Ernie Hudson fell from the 4th spot all the way down to 8th.

  • Celebs Find Success In Buy And Hold Strategy!! Thursday, 29 Mar 2007 | 10:41 AM ET

Here's what's happening in "Trading With The Stars." Our most active celebs lost the most money, and in some cases--fell lower in the standings as of the close on Wednesday. The biggest upward movement was seen by celebs who made no transactions or very few. Stephen Collins is still on top, followed by Jonathan Tucker. Johnny Bench moved out of last (good for Johnny--maybe he'll stay out of there for a while!)

  • Celebs Like Choices As Gold Moves Up Wednesday, 28 Mar 2007 | 9:42 AM ET

Judy Gold is moving on up in the "Trading With The Stars" portion of our Million Dollar Portfolio contest. She's now in 4th place--up two spots from 6th. Judy's holding of SSRI, seems to be paying off. the leader--Stephen Collins remains in the top spot--followed by Jonathan Tucker and Chris Moneymaker. Most of the stars stayed away from making many trades Tuesday, except for Willie Garson...

  • Celeb Cromwell--Turning Into Stock Trading Machine! Tuesday, 27 Mar 2007 | 10:31 AM ET

Most of our celebs had a slow day Monday, but James Cromwell "has been a machine" as someone said. Not only is he buying stocks, he's putting those bonus bucks to work--something the other celebs--and you non-celebs should be using to your advantage. Willie Garson used them to put Johnny Bench back in last place.

  • Changes For Trading With Stars Leaderboard Monday, 26 Mar 2007 | 12:55 PM ET

We mentioned earlier today that Stephen Collins has moved up to number one in "Trading With The Stars." Here's a breakdown of where each celeb stands as of Friday's action. Remember--the stars are playing for a chance to give their favorite charity a $50,000 donation. Sorry to say that after a brief stay in 9th place, Johnny Bench is back in dead last.

  • Stephen Collins

There's a new name on the leaderboard for "Trading With The Stars," and that name is...Stephen Collins. He knocks fellow actor Jonathan Tucker from first place and into second. Jonathan was number on from the beginning of the contest. But no more. Chris Moneymaker is in third place and James Cromwell move up from 5th to 4th place.

  • Celebs Trading Places As Well As Stocks Friday, 23 Mar 2007 | 1:06 PM ET

Some movement from Thursday's action in "Trading With The Stars." Stephen Collins is now in 2nd place, pushing out fellow actor Ernie Hudson and leaving him in 3rd place. Jonathan Tucker remains on top--but bad news for Hall of Famer Johnny Bench. Johnny, who moved up to the number 9 spot--is back at the bottom in 10th place.
