The seats were tightened again that day in Boston. The same plane had to make an emergency landing Monday when seats came loose shortly after takeoff on a New York- to- Miami flight.

    RALEIGH, N.C.-- Dara Biosciences Inc. said Tuesday it has regained compliance with Nasdaq share price rules. The stock returned to closing above $1 on Sept. 14, and has maintained that level for 13 straight sessions. Shares of Dara Biosciences rose 4 cents to end at $1.04 on Tuesday.

    NEW YORK-- A trial will be held next year for five of Bernard Madoff's former employees who are accused of conspiring in history's biggest Ponzi scheme. The Oct. 7, 2013, trial date was set Tuesday by a federal judge in Manhattan. Madoff is serving a 150- year prison sentence in North Carolina.

    DALLAS-- American Airlines says passenger seats on a third flight came loose as the plane was airborne, and it's continuing to inspect other jets with similar seating. Separately an American flight on Tuesday from Chicago to London was diverted to Shannon Airport in Ireland after a report of smoke in the cabin.

    NEW YORK-- New York prosecutors say the multibillion-dollar fraud carried out by Wall Street swindler Bernard Madoff began as far back as the early 1970 s. The revelation comes in a rewritten indictment boosting charges against four long-time employees of the investment firm Madoff ran from his Manhattan offices.
