  • March 6- Nasdaq OMX Group Inc said it will form a marketplace for trading in shares in unlisted companies in a joint venture with SharesPost Inc, whose private trading platform has run into regulatory trouble. The new market, to be based in San Francisco, will launch later this year, pending regulatory approvals, and will be led by SharesPost founder Greg Brogger.

  • SINGAPORE, Feb 22- Singapore's Wilmar International Ltd announced better-than-expected fourth-quarter net profit and a joint venture with fellow commodities firm Noble Group Ltd for Papua- focused palm projects. Wilmar reported net profit of $476.8 million for the three months ended in December, down 4.7 percent from $500 million a year earlier.

  • Feb 15- General Motors Co paid $119 million in September to buy back a 1 percent stake in its joint venture with its top Chinese partner SAIC Motor Corp, which it had given up ahead of its 2009 bankruptcy. However, SAIC retains a 51 percent share in the sales side of the business.

  • BEIJING/ STOCKHOLM, Jan 26- Sweden's Volvo said it will surpass Daimler as the world's biggest maker of heavy trucks after agreeing to set up a joint venture in China with Dongfeng Motor Group Co.. Volvo will pay 5.6 billion yuan for a 45 percent stake in the JV, giving it access to China where it currently has only a minor presence.

  • BEIJING, Jan 26- Swedish heavy truck producer AB Volvo said on Saturday it had signed an agreement with China's Dongfeng Motor Group Co. to create a new commercial vehicle joint venture in China, pending official approval. AB Volvo said in a media release it would take a 45 percent stake for 5.6 billion yuan.

    Jan 17- Harry Winston Diamond Corp said on Thursday that a minority partner in BHP Billiton's Ekati diamond mine in northern Canada has filed a lawsuit to try to stop the top diversified miner from selling the project to Harry Winston.

  • Jan 17- Canada's Sun Life Financial Inc and Malaysian state investor Khazanah will buy 98 percent of Aviva Plc's Malaysian insurance joint venture with lender CIMB for C $586 million. Sun Life and Khazanah will each pay C $293 million, the Canadian company said in a statement.

    Jan 15- Automobile manufacturer Fiat said the chief executive of its China joint venture, Jack Cheng, will move to a new position within the group. "This is a planned succession," said Mike Manley, the Fiat-Chrysler executive in-charge of the Asia-Pacific region, at the Detroit auto show.
