With his life savings of $5,000 dollars pinned to the inside of his coat, Conrad Hilton came to Texas in 1919. He went to pursue his dream of becoming a banker, but a series of events changed his life and the world of hospitality forever.

Conrad Hilton came from humble beginnings in the New Mexico desert. As a young man, he struggled to find his place in the world, venturing into politics and banking. In his search, he traveled to Texas in 1919, where he stumbled upon his future when he entered the lobby of The Mobley hotel. Known for his honesty and hospitality, Hilton built an empire, starting a hotel chain that would change the industry and span the globe.
