Zell to talk at Michigan Private Equity Conference

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Billionaire developer Sam Zell is scheduled to speak this week at a gathering of more than 200 private equity, investment banking and business leaders at the University of Michigan.

Zell is one of the keynote speakers Friday at the Michigan Private Equity Conference in Ann Arbor. The Michigan alumnus and major donor is one of the namesakes of the university's Samuel Zell and Robert H. Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, a conference sponsor.

The event is in its seventh year and covers current and emerging topics in the nation's economy and credit markets that pose challenges and opportunities for investors. The conference also includes panel discussions.

Zell is founder and chairman of Equity Group Investments.
