KEARNEY, Neb. -- Buckle's September revenue at stores open at least a year dipped 0.8 percent, missing Wall Street's expectations.
Analysts predicted a 1 percent increase in the figure, according to a Thomson Reuters poll.
Revenue at stores open at least a year is a key indicator of a retailer's health because it excludes results from stores recently opened or closed.
Buckle Inc., a teen retailer, said Thursday that total revenue for the five weeks ended Sept. 29 climbed 0.8 percent to $99.1 million.
For the year to date, revenue at stores open at least a year climbed 3.1 percent while total revenue rose 5.1 percent to $679.2 million.
Buckle, based in Kearney, Neb., currently runs 440 stores in 43 states. The company sells denim and other clothes, accessories and shoes under several brands.
