DRAGHI COMMENTS HIT THE SPOT, LIFT WALL STREET
U.S. stocks rose for a fourth session on Thursday following encouraging comments by European Central Bank President Mario Draghi on tools to tackle the region's debt crisis and in support of the euro.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 96.13 points, or 0.71 percent, to 13,590.74, the S&P 500 rose 11.44 points, or 0.79 percent, to 1,462.43 and the Nasdaq Composite
added 13.01 points, or 0.42 percent, to 3,148.24.
** COLLABRX INC , $6.9, up 83.3 pct (1028 ET)
A data analytics company focused on genomics, entered into a development and commercialization partnership agreement with Life Technologies Corp , the maker of tools and genetic testing equipment.
** NUVASIVE INC , $14.9, down 34 pct (0933 ET)
The medical device maker estimated third-quarter revenue below its earlier forecast citing "an unusually high" number of customers turned to competitors.
Brokerages Canaccord Genuity, Robert W. Baird & Co, Mizuho Securities USA, BMO Capital Markets and ThinkEquity Llc cut their price targets on the stock.
** HEWLETT-PACKARD CO , $14.31, down 4 pct (1002 ET)
A slew of brokerages cut their price targets on the stock, saying the weak economy will continue to weigh on the company that has been plagued by operating problems and slow growth in its computers and printers businesses.
** BROADWALK PIPELINE PARTNERS LP , $26.85, down 4.2 pct (1036 ET)
The midstream master limited partnership said it will offer 10 million common units at $26.99 per units, below its closing price of $28.04 per unit on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
** GENCO SHIPPING AND TRADING LTD , $3.85, down 9 pct (1038 ET)
Shares of the drybulk carrier, which has a high-degree of spot-market exposure, surged after the Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index climbed.
The overall index, tracking rates for ships carrying dry commodities such as iron ore, cement and coal, rose about 6 percent.
The Baltic's capesize index , a gauge for capesizes, which transport 150,000 tonne cargoes, also rose about 8 percent. Genco operates nine capesize vessels.

Data-integration software maker Informatica estimated third-quarter results that fell far short of analysts' expectations as business in Europe weakened.

** SPRINT NEXTEL CORP , $5.05, down 2.9 pct (0945 ET)
T-Mobile USA, which plans to merge with MetroPCS, will have to overcome technology hurdles to be able to take on bigger rivals Verizon Wireless , AT&T Inc and Sprint.
** HMS Holdings Corp , $28.66, down 11 pct (1025 ET)
The company, which provides cost-cutting services to government and private healthcare payers, cut its full-year earnings and revenue outlook for FY12.
** INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY CORP , $26.85, down 5.6 pct (0944 ET)
The company reported lower than expected third-quarter results.
** OCWEN FINANCIAL CORP , $36.60, up 5 pct (1014 ET)
A report said the company is expected to compete against rival bidders like Fortress Investment Group, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and others for Residential Capital Llc's
assets, according to the New York Post.
ResCap, the mortgage unit of Ally Financial, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May.
** O2 MICRO INTERNATIONAL LTD , $3.65, down 3 pct (1019 ET)
The chipmaker on Wednesday cut its third-quarter revenue forecast citing weak demand for its products as customers cut spending in a weak economy.
** FACEBOOK INC , $22.17, up 1.5 pct (0946 ET)
The social media company said it reached the 1 billion active monthly users threshold last month, and is up by 45 million users since June.
** MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL , $40.17, up 3 pct (0946 ET)
The hotel operator reported a higher-than-expected quarterly profit on Wednesday on stronger group and corporate business and lower costs.
** ENERSYS , $34.49, down 4.4 pct (0957 ET)
Stifel Nicolaus downgraded the industrial battery maker's stock to "hold" from "buy."
** EBAY INC , $49.66, up 2.3 pct (0947 ET)
Nomura Equity Research upgraded the world's largest online marketplace's stock to "buy" from "neutral." Lazard Capital Markets raised its price target on the stock to $55 from $52.
** MURPHY OIL CORP , $59.03, up 1.4 pct (0949 ET)
UBS Investment Research raised the energy company's price target to $62 from $54.
** GOOGLE INC , $762.74, up 0.03 pct (0950 ET)
The company revised up the bill for job cuts at its money-losing Motorola Mobility mobile phone unit in the third quarter and warned of further restructuring that may result in "significant" additional charges.

** AVERY-DENNISON CORP , $29.96, down 4.7 pct (0954 ET)
Diversified U.S. manufacturer 3M dropped its effort to buy Avery-Dennison Corp's office and consumer products business on Wednesday, about a month after U.S. regulators raised anti-trust concerns over the proposed deal.
** POLYCOM INC , $9.51, down 2.5 pct (0958 ET)
UBS Investment Research downgraded the videoconferencing company's stock to "neutral" from "buy" and cut its price target to $10 from $12.
