BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Cuomo administration has announced a $3.3 million project that will enhance public access to a stretch of Buffalo, N.Y.'s Lake Erie shoreline.

Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy joined local officials Thursday at the city's outer harbor to announce plans for the 21-acre parcel along Fuhrmann Boulevard that will include pedestrian paths, volleyball courts, playground, wind sculptures and public docks.

The project at the city's outer harbor is being overseen by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp, the state agency that's part of the ongoing effort to revitalize downtown Buffalo's waterfront district.

Officials say the work at the outer harbor site is expected to be completed by Memorial Day.
