ScanSource says revenue may fall short

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Technology products distributor ScanSource Inc. said Monday that its revenue for its most recent quarter may miss market expectations.

The company expects revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 will be in the range of $730 million to $740 million. It generated revenue of $770 million in the same period last year.

ScanSource's forecast falls short of the $760.1 million that analysts polled by FactSet forecast.

The company is scheduled to report its full results on Oct. 25.

Shares of ScanSource, based in Greenville, S.C., fell 41 cents to close at $31.21.
