EDUCATION: Harvard University. Bachelor's in economics, 1983. All-American in football.
CAREER: Corbat held several roles at Salomon Brothers, a company that eventually combined with Citi. At Citi, he was head of a division that managed bond trading in emerging markets. He later ran Citi's commercial bank and then its global wealth management unit. He also ran Citi Holdings, a portfolio of businesses and assets that Citi sold to raise cash and simplify its corporate structure following the financial crisis. Since the beginning of the year he was in charge of Citi's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
