Best Bets If There's a 'Cliff' Deal: Pros
Investors who believe lawmakers in Washington will reach a deal before year's end would do well to consider these stocks.

As the "fiscal cliff" continues to threaten tax hikes and massive federal spending cuts, the CNBC "Fast Money" traders picked stocks that would likely benefit from a budget deal being reached in Washington.

A resolution of the partisan rancor would ease worries about fiscal uncertainty, and options trader Scott Nations said money was poised to flow from a precious metal into equities.

"Gold is the perfect thing to sell in this situation," he said.

Brian Kelly of Shelter Harbor Capital picked a defense contractor to pop if the U.S. military's budget is spared drastic cuts.

"Lockheed Martin's the best way to play it," he said.

Drakon Capital's Guy Adami picked another aerospace stock near its 52-week high.

"Any certainty is going to augur well for Boeing," he said. "I think Boeing could really win to any deal that's out there."

SkyBridge Capital's Anthony Scaramucci liked General Dynamics for its stock price at 10 times forward earnings and its 50 percent market share in the large-cabin aircraft space.

"These stocks will do well with or without the 'cliff,'" he said.

OptionMonster's Pete Najarian broke from the pack to pick financials.

Bank of America shares trading at half of book value made that stock attractive, and increased mortgage activity bodes well for the sector, he said, weighing in bullish on JPMorgan and Citigroup, as well.

"These are money-making machines right now," he said.
