Midday Movers: AAPL, CLWR & More

Take a look at some of Tuesday's midday movers:

Apple rose after Foxconnreported record sales in November, citing strength in shipments of consumer electronics. Foxconn is a major supplier to Apple and Hewlett-Packard.

Clearwire rallied sharply after reports the wireless broadband services provider is closer to a deal with Sprint, according to CNBC's David Faber.

Monster Beverage gained after Stifel Nicolaus upgraded its rating on the energy drink maker to "buy" from "hold," and set a price target of $65.

TripAdvisor rallied after Liberty Interactive announced plans to acquire voting control of the online travel company from media mogul Barry Diller and his foundation.

Discount retailer Dollar Generalcontinued to weigh on the sector. In a conference call earlier to discuss its third-quarter earnings, CEO Richard Dreiling said that he has rarely seen weekly sales fluctuate as much as they have recently and sees 2013 margins under pressure. Competitors Dollar Tree and Family Dollar also fell in sympathy.

Urban Outfitters benefited from increased price targets by two analysts after the company gave guidance that was somewhat better than analysts were expecting.

Delta climbed following news the airline company is buying a stake in Virgin Atlantic Airways. The company plans to use its investment in Virgin Atlantic to expand flights to the U.S. from London's Heathrow Airport.

And IBM continued to trade higher. Shares of the information technology company are up about 3-percent since news that of its retirement program overhaul.
