TOKYO, Dec 28 (Reuters) - Japanese industrial output fell 1.7 percent in November, government data showed on Friday, suggesting falling exports and weak global demand took a toll on the nation's production.

The fall was much bigger than a median market forecast for a 0.5 percent decline. It followed a 1.6 percent rise in the previous month, which was the first increase in four months.

Manufacturers surveyed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expect output to rise 6.7 percent in December and increase 2.4 percent in January, the data showed.

The ministry maintained its assessment of industrial output, saying that it was falling.
