Midday Movers: CME, MOS & More

Market Insider | What's Shaking | Stocks to Watch

Take a look at some of Friday's midday movers:

CME spiked higher as the Dodd-Frank reform law could push more of swaps business to the exchanges.

Mosaic gained ground following better-than-expected earnings, but quarterly operating profit fell 30 percent on weakness in its international business.

Avon Products continued its recent rally following an upgrade to "buy" at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Autonation surged higher after the auto retailer posted new vehicle sales of 27,958 for December, 15 percent higher than a year ago.

And shares of Apple were under pressure after the personal device maker mentioned in a New York Times article regarding a Congressional investigation into tech companies' U.S. tax-avoiding accounting practices. Other tech companies mentioned included Google, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft.
