Playing JPMorgan Into Earnings
Last week provided clues how to play JPMorgan ahead of Wednesday's earnings, EmergingMoney.com's Tim Seymour says.

JPMorgan shares ahead of earnings offer significant value, EmergingMoney.com's Tim Seymour said Tuesday on CNBC.

For a clue into how the stock will perform when the banking giant reports quarterly earnings on Wednesday, Seymour looked to last week: "The Wells Fargonumbers gave a great read-through."

On "Fast Money," he also said that the mortgage business was "conservatively priced into people's expectations."

"In terms of the growth, the surprise is in the upside – not in the fourth-quarter numbers, but next year," he said, adding that anecdotal evidence from talking to contacts on Wall Street suggests that bank stocks probably bottomed in the third quarter.

"I think all the doom and gloom over capital markets has seen its worst," he added.

StockMonster's Guy Adami liked Goldman Sachs, recalling that he had said in December that "GS is something you probably should own into the earnings release." Since that call, the stock has rallied some $20.

"I don't know what's going to happen post-earnings," he said. "I think all bets are off after tomorrow.

"What I could see happening in GS specifically is a couple-dollars rally, then a late-day sell-off, and that marks the top of the short-term, at least in GS."
