Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro

Microsoft is rolling out its second version of its tablet called the Surface Windows 8 Pro on Feb. 9 with a starting price tag of $899, the company announced on Tuesday.

The software giant launched the first version of the tablet, the Surface RT tablet—which starts at $499—in October, along with its new operating system Windows 8.

Whereas the Surface RT runs on a more bare bones version of the latest operating system and is powered with an ARM processor, the Pro version will have an Intel Core i5 processor and run on Windows Pro, which will give it more power and enable it to run more programs.

The new tablet will be available at Microsoft's online store, Staples and Best Buy on Feb 9.
