It's not an FDR Fireside Chat, it's an Obama "Fireside Hangout."
White House officials are again tapping into Google's social platform to reach out to the public about current issues and next up on the agenda is the timely matter of gun violence.
Vice President Joe Biden will host a 30-minute discussion about the White House Policy recommendations on preventing gun violence Thursday via the Google platform.
Basically, the public can submit questions by following the participants on Google's social network. The public can also be viewed live on YouTube.
The Obama administration — which is no stranger to using social media to reach the public — hosted hangouts during its first term and is renewing its social efforts during Obama's second term.
