Josh Lipton joined CNBC in January 2013 as an on-air markets reporter located at CNBC Global Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. He appears on CNBC's Business Day programming and contributes to CNBC.com.
Previously, Lipton was the markets editor for Bloomberg Television where he was responsible for all markets coverage, working with Bloomberg's team to develop reports on stocks, bonds, currencies and commodities. He also appeared weekdays on "In the Loop with Betty Liu."
Prior to joining Bloomberg in June 2011, Lipton was a staff writer at Minyanville where he covered the capital markets. Before that, he served as a staff writer at Forbes, where he reported on finance and investing and contributed stock recommendations and investigative feature stories to Forbes magazine. Lipton also appeared weekly on "Forbes on Fox," the internationally syndicated television news program focused on economics and the financial markets.
In addition to Forbes, Lipton's stories have appeared in Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, and The American Lawyer, among other publications.
Lipton holds a bachelor's of arts degree from Colgate University and a master's degree from both the London School of Economics and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
