TABLE-Final polls before Italian election

ROME, Feb 8 (Reuters) - The final opinion polls published before a two-week blackout ahead of Italy's election on Feb. 24-25 show the centre-left set to win a majority in the lower house but in need of allies to hold the Senate. Pier Luigi Bersani's centre-left coalition, made up of his Democratic Party (PD) and Left, Ecology and Freedom (SEL), is an average of 5.7 points ahead of the centre-right coalition led by Silvio Berlusconi and his People of Freedom party (PDL). The party with the biggest vote is automatically awarded a majority in Italy's lower house, but seats in the Senate, which has equal powers in passing laws, are decided by separate regional votes. The polls show Bersani falling short of a Senate majority, a result which would likely push him into an alliance with the centrists led by outgoing premier Mario Monti. Here are six of the final polls to be published and a calculated average of their results:
