Bull Market Led by ‘CFI’: Ed Yardeni

Three sectors have led the bull market higher – as stocks are poised to continue their climb, Ed Yardeni of Yardeni Research said Monday.

"The reality is, this bull market's been led by CFI, which is my acronym for consumer discretionary, financials and industrials," he said, adding that it has been a "pretty good foundation for the bull market."

On "Fast Money," Yardeni also called it a broad, secular rally that has yet to get its due.

"I've described this bull market as the Rodney Dangerfield of bull markets," he said. "It's got absolutely no respect, and yet, here were are, about to take out, I believe, the all-time highs."

Yardeni admitted that his thesis could be wrong, but added that he didn't think the likelihood was too great.

"I'm watching these things the way we all are, and the reality is for the past three years – three years of living dangerously – it's been the same, old concerns, that China's going to have a hard landing, the U.S. a double dip and that Europe's going to be a financial meltdown," he said. "Maybe these all come together and finally break the back of this bull, but I don't think so."
