CNBC Announces New China Programme

Inside China launches 15 March and airs internationally

Singapore and Beijing, 11 March, 2013 – CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today announced that it is launching a new programme providing fresh, original and in-depth coverage of China.

Every month, starting on March 15th, CNBC's Eunice Yoon will present a new half-hour programme, Inside China, which will provide viewers with a front row seat to the historic changes shaping the Middle Kingdom. Yoon will travel around the country covering the trends that are defining the new China and influencing the world.

John Casey, Senior Vice President of News and Programming for CNBC International said, "In 2013,you're not likely to go a day without reading headlines about China that have significant impact both domestically and globally. Inside China is an exciting opportunity for us to take our audiences behind those headlines - to meet the people, witness the events and observe the trends that are helping to create a new era in world history."

The programme will showcase a mixture of compelling, access-driven taped stories, feature interviews with news makers, business leaders and influential personalities and a temperature check on Chinese social media, which is providing a forum for discourse and change unlike any other in the world.

Inside China will air across CNBC's regional networks in Asia Pacific and EMEA, with a combined reach of more than 140 million homes. The programme will be produced from CNBC's bureau in Beijing and edited in CNBC's Asia headquarters in Singapore. It will be complemented by special reports on CNBC.com.

The show kicks off with a focus on China's new leadership and whether it has a genuine chance to enact reforms. It will also profile Ma Jun, someone who has been called one of China's most influential people for making the fight against pollution a personal crusade, and will ask: is the internet China's best hope for stopping corruption? Former head of Google China and influential blogger, Lee Kai Fu, is among those who gave an answer.

Inside China premieres in Asia Pacific on Friday, 15 March,2013 at 5pm (SIN/HK) with weekend repeats. Full transmission times listed below.
