LHC Group buys Ala. hospice agency

LAFAYETTE, La. -- Home health care provider LHC Group Inc. said Tuesday that it bought Infirmary Hospice Care of Alabama.

LHC said the agency has about $2.5 million in annual revenue. It is based in Mobile, Ala., and serves Mobile and Baldwin counties. It will keep the Infirmary Hospice Care name until the end of the year.

LHC Group, based in Lafayette, La., owns 34 hospice locations in 10 states.

Its shares rose 75 cents, or 3.5 percent, to close at $22.40.
