Joe Finally Gets His 'Green Jacket' (Kind Of)

Our Joe Kernen has a "wardrobe malfunction" with the "Squawk Box" Green Jacket before he spoke to golfer Ian Poulter, who's trying to get his first win at the Masters.

Joe Kernen's Masters-style green jacket had a problem just as the CNBC host was going to interview Ian Poulter about the golfer's chances this weekend at Augusta National.

The felt S and B letters signifying "Squawk Box" kept falling off the emblem on Kernen's pocket.

While he and co-host Becky Quick laughed, Kernen made numerous attempts and put them back on, but not necessarily in the right order.

Ian Poulter: I’m Taking This to My Grave
English pro golfer Ian Poulter discusses his quest to win the 2013 Masters Tournament and capture the "green jacket." Only one Englishman has ever won at Augusta: Nick Faldo, three times.

Once the telephone interview began Wednesday, Poulter said he's feeling good, despite having a chest infection a couple weeks ago.

Poulter is trying to win his first major golf tournament and join three-time Masters winner Nick Faldo as the second Englishman ever to win at Augusta National. Lee Westwood, Justin Rose, and Luke Donald—all from England as well—will also be chasing those milestones.

In the interview, Poulter said he's focusing on being "in the mix" come Sunday afternoon in the final round. "I think we've all seen how Sundays unfold around Augusta National. The last few years they've got that buzz back around that back nine."

Besides looking over his shoulder at his fellow countrymen, last year's winner, Bubba Watson, and three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson—to name a few, he acknowledged the Tiger-factor. "You have to expect Tiger [Woods] to be there. He's won this event enough times."

In fact, four of Woods' 14 major victories have come at the Masters. But as he chases Jack Nicklaus' record 18 major wins, he hasn't won there since 2005, and he hasn't won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open.
