Take a look at some of Friday's midday movers:

Gold stocks were hit as gold futures broke down below key technical levels. Barrick Gold, Newmont Mining and Randgold Resources were all lower.

True Religion Apparel surged following a buyout offer from Towerbrook Capital Partners for about $826 million or, $32 per share.

Intuitive Surgical fell after the the company issued an "urgent medical device notification."

Macy's hit an historic high. The retailer expected to reports its quarterly earnings next Wednesday, May 15, before the opening bell.

Universal Display fell hard after the company reported earnings and an outlook that disappointed investors. Canaccord Genuity cut its price target on the company to $30 from $43 saying that the risk reward and valuation suggest limited upside at current levels. Universal Display makes OLED technologies used in flat panel displays including mobile devices.

3D Systems traded lower but was off lows after the company sold a 7.5 million share offering at a 7 percent discount to Thursday's close.
