Gold traded at $1,394 per ounce at 1:08 p.m. ET, down 1.24 percent.
Dudas shared his top three mining stocks, which were inexpensive and poised for growth:
He also said that as a coal play, Consol, was worth a look.

Gold, Dudas noted, gold still needed to find stability.
"Certainly, gold has found some big near-term headwinds with what's happened to the dollar," he said. "And certainly since the breakdown in the price in early April when it broke $1,600 to where we are today, there's got to be some technical repair and the damage that's been done. I think that's what the market's trying to figure out right now."
