Steve Martin Lists St. Barts Villa for $11 Million
Steve Martin is a man of many talents. Aside from being a comedian, author, dad and banjo player, he also may be a skilled real-estate investor.
Martin is listing his villa in the posh Caribbean island of St. Barts for 8.75 million euros, or about $11.4 million. Martin purchased the vacation pad in 2008 for at or below its list price of $9 million. That means he could come out ahead by more than $2 million if he gets his current asking price.
What's more, he's been actively renting the property since he bought it. The property, called Villa Au Soleil, rents for between $16,500 and $38,000 a week depending on the season.

The main house has four bedrooms and four full baths and sweeping views of St. Jean Bay. There's also an infinity pool, a multilevel sun deck and a patio, along with a private hot tub on the master bedroom's terrace.
The grounds come with a caretaker's house, lily pond, poolside "barbeque shelter" and a Balinese-style gazebo.

"This is a gorgeous vacation home with a special mystique," said Tom Smyth, of St Barth Properties Sotheby's International Realty, which is listing the property.
Smyth won't say why Martin is selling. Martin, who tweeted out a press release of the listing, won't say either.
"I don't ask those questions," Smyth said.
Maybe Martin was just too busy banjo-touring to spend much down time in the sun.
