Gabelli’s 3 Bright Investment Areas

The bargains are out there if you know where to look, Gabelli Funds CEO and Chairman Mario Gabelli said Tuesday.

The first of three areas Gabelli pointed out was housing.

"I like it because the consumer's net worth and the passion of everyone here is in their home," he said. "The wealth of the consumer in America hit an all-time high yesterday.

"Housing is still about $4 trillion in terms of net worth below, but housing starts haven't started."

On CNBC's "Fast Money," he also said that one of his top stock picks in the sector was Lennar.

Also high on his list was a housing recovery play, Graco.

Gabelli said that he also liked companies with exposure to fracking and commercial aviation.

"If you spent time going out looking at stocks where nobody'scovering them, you're going to find bargains. You turn over stones, and that'swhat we do every day," he said. "And I think the small-cap stocks are also agreat place for companies to buy."
