Facebook silences critics ... for now

Gene Munster, Piper Jaffray, discusses Facebook's strong earnings report yesterday as well as new products, like Facebook Home. The stock is back above $31.

After Facebook's quarterly earnings release, shares traded sharply higher on Wednesday. The results suggested CEO Mark Zuckerberg may have convinced investors that mobile is an advantage, rather than a drawback.

In his prepared remarks, he calmed fears concerning the "urban myth" that teens are becoming less infatuated with Facebook by noting that Facebook usage within that demographic is steady.
