AllThingsD is looking for media partner
The technology website All Things Digital is getting close to splitting with Dow Jones and is in search of new media partners, according to a report.
Co-executive editors Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg have received proposals from several media companies—including NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast and also the parent company of CNBC—according to a report from Fortune.
Reuters reported earlier this year that the tech website had begun discussions with Dow Jones, which is owned by News Corp., about continuing or ending their partnership.
It is still not clear, though, whether the editors are seeking outside funding because they are completely ending their partnership with Dow Jones or if they are just using it as leverage in their negotiations.
"It's not complex," Swisher told Fortune in a statement. "Walt and I are interested in taking the online journalism and conference efforts we have been successful at building over the last 12 years and expanding them. There are lots of ways to do that, and we are thinking about the best way to evolve what we believe is an even bigger opportunity in the years ahead."
