‘The best house right now is the US’

When it comes to investment opportunities in the current climate, the United States still beats them all, OptionMonster's Pete Najarian said Wednesday.

"When you really look across at what's working right now, I think you want to look at the best house, and the best house right now by far is the United States," he said.

On CNBC's "Fast Money," Najarian said that U.S.-based stocks related to the production of shale oil and financials were doing well, noting heavy activity in Wells Fargo was one example.

"That's as U.S. as it gets," he said.

Airlines, too, were seeing an "absolute scorching move to the upside," as shares of Delta Air Lines, United and JetBlue have moved higher, Najarian said. "So, it's an all-American sort of a lovefest right now, and I certainly look at the United States as the best house."

Stephen Weiss of Short Hills Capital agreed.

"For all the talk about European stocks, European markets being undervalued relative to the U.S., I don't believe it's true because they've got many more financials that dilute the valuation, bringing the P/E lower," he said.

Weiss added that Europe's economy would continue to exhibit more "stop-and-go" than the U.S., which appears to have strength ahead of it.

Corporate earnings, Weiss added, were still "spring-loaded," which were ready to climb "if you get a slight pick-up in the economy to make the market look cheap again."
