Mr. K. Ramchand holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Madras University and a post graduate degree in 'development planning' from the School of Planning, Ahmedabad. Currently, he is the Managing Director of IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited since August 13, 2008. Mr Ramchand is also the Chief Executive Officer (Infrastructure) of the IL&FS Group, with the responsibility of oversighting all infrastructure projects within the Group. He has nearly 35 years' experience in urban and transport infrastructure development sector and been involved in a large number of private infrastructure initiatives including the successful commissioning of various toll road projects in the state of Gujarat and for the NHAI.
He was involved in the creation of a large number of innovative products such as the original Concession Agreements, Zero Coupon Bonds for Infrastructure, Insurance products for infrastructure, Refinancing of loans, Acquisition financing including the first Dim Sum Bond by an Indian Infra Company. He serves on the Boards of various IL&FS group companies and has been part of Indian Industry delegations at various Domestic and International forums.
Mr. Ramchand has been with the IL&FS group for the past 20 years and is on the board of directors of various companies within the IL&FS Group. Prior to joining IL&FS Group, he was associated with the Operations Research Group, Dalal Consultants, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and City and Industrial Development Corporation Limited.
