CNBC's Julia Boorstin examines Netflix's talks with various cable providers.

There may be a new way to watch your favorite Netflix shows ... and it may be by a way you least expect. The company is in talks to make the online streaming video service available on a regular set-top box.

Several cable television companies are in talks with Netflix, including Comcast and Suddenlink Communications.

The idea is to offer its online video service as an app on their set-top boxes.

Talks are in the very early stages.
