Want to go to the World Series? $1,000 please

The hottest sports ticket in America Wednesday night is in Boston, where the Red Sox can win the World Series with a victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

But if you want to go, wear comfortable shoes.

The cheapest tickets for the game on the online ticket exchange Stubhub as of Wednesday morning were $948 each—for a standing-room only section of the historic ballpark.

Some standing-room seats cost even more than that, as the Boston Globe's Red Sox beat writer noted.

Want to sit down?

Prepare to pay no less than $1,045 for the privilege. (Plus, your view might be obstructed by a pole).

There's a whole range of options in-between, of course, including the park's famed Green Monster in left field (almost $6,200 a pop).

But if money's no object, there's always the upper-class EMC Club.

Those tickets were a cool $12,652 each as of midday.

Hot dogs not included.
